Organized Sports Aren’t Just For Kids!

When was the last time you played an organized sport?
Well, take a trip down memory lane and think about a sport that you really enjoyed playing. Think about all the reasons that you enjoyed being a part of a team. Guess what? Your sports-playing days aren’t over!
If you’re nostalgic for that part of your childhood, do some research to find out about your community’s sports leagues.
Some popular sports leagues are:
- Kickball
- Flag football
- Soccer
- Softball
- Tennis
Consider all the benefits from joining a sports league as an adult:
- We all know that exercise is important for a healthy and balanced lifestyle. Sports are a great and enjoyable way to make exercise a regular part of your week. And when you are a member of a team, you have built-in accountability partners.
- Playing on a sports team is a good stress-reliever. While you’re out on the field/court, you can hush your worries about work/kids/finances – and just focus on the game going on around you.
- Community sports leagues provide a unique way to spend time with friends. Rather than dinner or play dates, you’re able to do something different! Coming up with a team name is always a bonding moment, and the team shirts will make for lasting memories!
- If you have kids on sports teams, you probably spend a lot of time watching practices and Saturday morning games. If you join a team, it gives your kids a chance to see you out there! This could be a great way to bond with your kids, while also setting a good example of sportsmanship.
